The world's longest bus ride lasts two months and takes in 22 countries

You don’t need to drive to enjoy this epic European road trip.

A new bus service from India-based Overland Adventures will take passengers on a 56-day trip from Istanbul to London.

The 7,500-mile route is far from direct as it takes a major Detour to the northernmost point in mainland Europe, after first following a meandering path through Eastern Europe. Highlights along the way include the cities of Sofia, Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana, plus Vienna, Bratislava, Prague and Warsaw. From there the wheels on the bus go round and round through Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia before crossing into Finland and taking in the Northern Lights of Norway at Nordkapp and the awesome Atlantic Ocean Road. The final leg then passes through Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium and France before a Channel crossing to the UK.

The two-month voyage looks like it should be pretty comfy as the bus in kitted out with luxurious airline-style seating - but so it should be as a ticket costs around £20,000.

The bus leaves Istanbul in August 2023 and 22 countries later arrives in London.

If you prefer self-drive adventures then the company also offers a wide range of itineraries around the world.
