This Italian inn invites you to take an Alpine adventure

Gianni Danesi, the enterprising owner of La Fiaschetteria, a small inn in Bergamo, has devised a two-day tour that takes in the best of the Italian alps.

“The Bergamasco Experience is a poetic justification of geography, a two day journey, travelling in stages, which I have designed for my customers who want to explore our valleys, discovering their flavours and colours,” explains Gianni.

Supplied with a classic rally-inspired road book drivers will begin at La Fiaschetteria where they can fuel up on delicious local products such as the traditional Scarpinocc di Parre Bergamasco ravioli. Over the next two days the route covers approximately 200 miles and has been designed to be driven at a leisurely pace, with plenty of pit stops to stock up on more regional goodies, many of which are included in the €220 price.

Accommodation is extra and Gianni has arranged special rates with local hostelries from as little as €70 per night with breakfast included.

“A straight line is the shortest way to connect two places, however, abandoning yourself to the nature that surrounds you and enjoying the views as the hours pass, you will discover the potential of our unexplored valleys and return at the end of both days with a selection of delicious products prepared especially for you,” says Gianni.

It sounds like a delightful Detour and we hope to join Gianni later this year to experience it for ourselves.
