Why tow a caravan when you could lug a log cabin instead?
A weekend retreat to a rustic cabin is the dream for many people and now a Japanese trailer maker has come up with a timber-clad escape vehicle that you can take with you wherever you go. As long as you’ve got a chunky 4x4 to haul it.
The Bess Imago Iter is a £22,000 minimalist cedar box on wheels (don’t call it a shed), that features huge windows but is otherwise essentially a blank canvas.
It could be a cosy den, a fishing hut or an artist’s or musician’s studio and, because it sits on a rugged four-wheel trailer, you can set it up pretty much anywhere you can get your vehicle.
It’s pretty spacious, with 6.51 square metres of floorspace, but doesn’t come with any of the home-away-from home accoutrements of a regular caravan. If you want to cook, you’ll need to build a fire, and if you feel of a call of nature coming you’ll need to make like a bear…
