Case study: the supercars that come with matching luggage
Packing for a road trip requires a deft touch. Whether it’s a family holiday, an outdoorsy adventure or a journey just for the joy of driving it’s always a challenge to fit everything you need. It’s hard enough in a hatchback, but imagine having to squeeze a week’s worth of gear into the awkward-shaped spaces of a supercar. One percenter problems, eh? As fortune would have it these car makers for the rich and famous have got you covered.
McLaren
Formula 1 legends McLaren have partnered with Tumi in a new capsule collection of nine bags. The range includes carry-ons, duffel bags made from fancy thermo-plastics with tension straps inspired by the safety belts in the McLaren Senna. Just don’t expect to fit them all in your McLaren at once.
Helm Jaguar E-Type
The whole interior of this £420,000 Helm restomod Jaguar E-Type has been designed by leather designer Bill Amberg. Alongside the leather-trimmed seats, dashboard, and even switches, you’ll find a set of four “Rocket” bags to perfectly complement the car and impress the concierge at your five-star destination.
Bugatti EB110
The outrageous Bugatti EB110 didn’t have much room to spare, with most of its footprint being taken up by the mighty quad-turbo V12 engine. Luckily the car could be specified with a set of bags to match its leather interior. It was only made from 1991-1995 but one example is for sale right now. If you need to ask the price, you can’t afford it, but at least the bags are thrown in for free.
