In 2022 the home of the British Grand Prix will become home to 60 petrolheads who take ownership of the luxury two and three-bedroom residences being built right next to the famous circuit. There’ll be access to a clubhouse with a pool, gym and restaurant, while owners also get free access to all racing events and will be able to drive their own cars on track at exclusive sessions. Residency at Escapade Silverstone starts from £650,000 with the largest properties costing a million more.

Thermal Club, USA

California’s Thermal Springs Raceway and its Thermal Club set the benchmark for private car country clubs. Just 30 minutes from Palm Springs is this 400-acre club, complete with its own 5.1-mile race circuit. Stunning multi-million-dollar villas, each with extensive garage facilities, adjoin the track. The $85,000 a year fee grants access to the 100 lucky club members to the circuit and the clubhouse with its fine-dining restaurant. It’s a petrolheads California dream come true. Monticello Motor Club, USA

New Yorkers who want to trade the traffic of Manhattan for serious speeds are flocking to the Monticello Motor Club. Almost 500 people have joined, paying a $90,000 initial fee and annual subscription of $14,000. That buys access to an unlimited number of track days on one of the fastest tracks in the USA. Top speeds above 170mph are quite possible on the 4.1-mile circuit. The swanky mansions built by Monticello Motor Club’s members sit just outside the track.

 

Club Moolia, Australia

Club Moolia, just north of Perth in Western Australia is set to be the first car country club Down Under. Built around a Formula 1-inspired racetrack, with its own lagoon and golf course the club plans to charge AUD$50,000 to join plus a AUD$7,000 annual membership for a mid-range deal. That grants access to all the club’s facilities including a set number of track days and hours on the golf links.

The Magarigawa Club, Japan

Japan’s first foray into the members-only track club is The Magarigawa Club in the Chiba Prefecture, about an hour from Tokyo. Set in the mountains it offers stunning views of Mt Fuji and Tokyo Bay with a 2.2-mile track designed by Formula 1 circuit designer Herman Tilke. The climate-controlled pit building stores 36 cars, while the clubhouse features a lounge, bar, gym, pool. The site even has its own onsen natural hot springs to unwind in after a hard day’s drive.
