Watch two brothers take on the Carrera Panamericana in their old Volvo Amazon

The world’s greatest auto races fuel every driver’s passion for competition and adventure. But one race offers something more. La Carrera Panamericana unites competitors unlike any other race. This unity is the Spirit of La Carrera. This spirit gave birth to the documentary “Driving La Carrera, Rally Brother.” Two brothers, Chris and Jeff Mason, find out that racing in the Carrera Panamericana is more than just winning; it is the magic that happens when people come together in the spirit of generosity. An inspiring story about a race that unites people, cultures, and countries. No one makes it to the finish line alone. - #DrivingLaCarrera #LaCarreraPanamericana #VintageRacing #Mexico #Volvo #RallyCar #VolvoAmazon #RallyMexico #CarCulture #Brothers #Motorsports #Rally #Autosports #IndieFilm #Documentary #F1 #WRC #WeShareAPassion - www.drivinglacarrera.com - Driving La Carrera supports the Piston Foundation - Director: Fernando Cum Marin, Mexico City Executive Producer: Julián Castillo, Mexico City, Production Company: Elemental Agency Producer: Chris Mason, Venice, Italy Producer: Jeff Mason, Denver Colorado Editor: Guillermo Mendiguren, Mexico City Sound Designer: Lilian Villaseñor, Mexico City - Movie stills: https://www.drivinglacarrera.com/carrera-panamericana-2019-photos - Team: https://www.drivinglacarrera.com/team - Podcast: https://www.drivinglacarrera.com/podcast - Car (Mzcalero): https://www.drivinglacarrera.com/mzcalero-volvo-amazon-rally-car - Store: https://www.drivinglacarrera.com/store - © Driving La Carrera LLC

Brothers Chris and Jeff Mason fulfilled a lifelong ambition to compete in La Carrera Panamericana rally, and lucky for us, a film crew was along for the ride.

The epic 1,900 mile rally across Mexico was first held in 1950 to celebrate the opening of the Pan American highway. It was a nine-stage, five-day race across the country – Mexico’s Mille Miglia except it was twice the distance.

These days it’s a 1,900-mile classic car rally and the brothers followed in their stock car-driving father’s wheeltracks by entering their 1965 Volvo Amazon. The whole thing was filmed and cut into a very watchable half-hour documentary called Driving La Carrera.

Without giving too much away, let’s just say, like any good driving adventure, it wasn’t without its unexpected twists and turns.
