Wish you were here? In a Lexus

In celebration of the Great British Staycation Lexus UK commissioned three artists to create a trio of travel posters with a vintage motoring theme.

Each artwork features the Lexus LC convertible in a popular tourist spot, although only one – The Peak District – is really a driving destination. To park up next to Tower Bridge in London you’ll be faced with paying the congestion charge and jostling with Uber drivers and buses, while Brighton’s seafront is usually teeming with traffic.

Rebecca Pymar from Norwich chose Snake Pass (top) as her inspiration, saying: “It is renowned by drivers as one of the UK’s most enjoyable and breath-taking sections of road. It twists and turns, meandering through the hills and across the reservoir, with the sun bouncing off surrounding hills.”

Queenie Moorhouse says: “The print I’ve designed for Brighton conjures up memories of warm summer days enjoying the bustle and buzz of this charming seaside town on the south coast of England – a perfect place to drive to.”

Joel Clark chose Tower Bridge as it’s not far from his East London Home, making it a true staycation destination (at least for him). “The sharp 21st century design of the LC Convertible, set against the Neo-Gothic 19th century design was the perfect choice to accentuate this, plus I love convertibles!” he says.
