Detour Pit Stop #05: Caffeine and Machine, The Hill, UK

caffeine-and-machine.jpg

This is where gastro pub meets gasoline.

Opened in 2018 Caffeine and Machine, in Ettington, Warwickshire, has rapidly become the go to spot for hungry drivers and riders.

With its plentiful parking and welcoming attitude it’s possibly even become a victim of its own success, with weekend crowding meaning you have to pay to reserve a spot (although you get a voucher for the same amount to spend).

Better to go mid-week if you can when you often find a more eclectic mix of motors in the car park and the vibe is that bit more relaxed.

But whenever you go you can expect great grub, the titular coffee kick and - for those who aren’t behind the wheel - a well-stocked bar.

There are great roads nearby, but that has led to some visitors being rather over-enthusiastic and attracting the attention of the local law enforcement, So, if you do visit, as the staff T-shirts and signs everywhere say: “Don’t be a dick”.
