Detour Pit Stop #46: Lindner Nürburgring Motorsport Hotel, Germany

More than two million people visit the Germany’s legendary Nürburgring every year. Consequently there’s no shortage of accommodation from four star luxury to boutique B&Bs.

At Detour we firmly believe that the fun shouldn’t stop when you’ve parked your car for the night, which is why we love a hotel/motel with a theme (or two). California’s Madonna Inn is a firm favourite, and so too, is the Linder Nürburgring Motorsport Hotel.

For the most part the decor at the Linder is as you’d expect for a hotel perched on the perimeter of a motor racing circuit. The chintzy lobby has pictures of historic races on the ceiling and many of the guest rooms also have a sporting theme with colourways following team hues and more sporty imagery on the walls.

There are, however, a few niche rooms, which might make your stay more exciting. First there are the Rock am Ring rooms celebrating the Nürburgring’s place as a music venue, which cater to clientele who fancy a good head-banging . Next there are wildlife themed rooms, because, er, why not? And finally there are the Romantik rooms, adorned with erotic images if you’re planning on making your stay a little more racy.

Creepy, kitsch or cute? Whatever your take on the Lindner you won’t forget your stay.
