Farewell to Giulia

They say you can’t call yourself a true car enthusiast unless you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo. Just ask Enzo Ferrari.

For three years Detour has had the delight of driving this 1969 Giulia Super 1600. Together we took Detours to France, Switzerland and Italy, Wales, and North Yorkshire, to the Goodwood Members' Meeting and Revival.

We fitted an Alfaholics stainless steel exhaust, beefed up the brakes, fitted Vredestein Sprint Classics and added a Nardi Classico wheel to the car which already sat on Koni sport suspension and rare Campagnolo alloys.

Before the Alfa left us, the talented Valerio Lettieri took these amazing photos. In a cold dark studio in south London, armed only with his camera and some LED strip lights, Valerio created this incredible look.

We’ll miss this car, but have moved on to something a little racier. More on that later. In the meantime enjoy Valerio’s gorgeous shots of the Giulia in all its glory.
