Italian automotive atelier The Outlierman could make a Detour to the Cote d’Azur or Lake Como even more unforgettable thanks to its new Rent and Drive platform which give customers access to a host of classic cars.

The Lake Como-based company made its name in handcrafted luxury accessories, but now offers a range of more than 15 cars from Alfa Romeos to Porsches and Ferraris, and will even offer help planning your drive.

Prices start at just over £700 per day for a 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider and rise to £13,600 for a Ferrari 250 GT. A Jaguar E-Type is £1,500, a Porsche 356A Speedster will set you back £1,600 and a Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing is £6,300.

The Outlierman says its curators will tailor your route to take in delicious food and wine stops or take in historic, artistic or natural beauty stops along the way.

Andrea Mazzuca, founder of The Outlierman, says: “I have always had a passion for driving classic sports cars and wanted to create something special, which I could use both for myself, and share with likeminded car enthusiasts. With access to some of the world’s finest classic sports cars, we can provide unforgettable experiences that many automotive aficionados only dream of.”

In addition to the cars listed on the Rent & Drive platform The Outlierman says it can source almost any other classic car through its network of contacts. And, as befits its background, you will also be kitted out with the finest driving gloves, silk scarves and luggage.

The Outlierman’s new venture adds to a growing number of classic car road trip experiences being offered in Europe including a programme from Four Seasons Hotels.
