Arguably Europe’s most illustrious road race, the Mille Miglia – as the name implies – features a 1,000-mile route from Rome to Brescia and back. The original event ran from 1923 until 1957, but was revived in the Eighties as a classic tour – although drivers, such as David Gandy, will tell you there’s no hanging around. Discover the route.

Targa Florio

Sicily’s Targa Florio is one of the oldest motor races in the world and first ran in 1906. It took a stunning circular route of more than 600 miles, these days the annual revival is run over a more compact Piccolo circuit. It still boasts more than 800 corners, though!
