Mazda and Mizuno team up for the Miata of driving shoes
Mizuno’s new Bareclutch sneaker has been designed with Mazda to make driving even more fun.
The two Japanese companies joined forces to create a lightweight low-top shoe with an especially thin sole for a more direct connection between your feet and the pedals of your car.
A unique uneven inner sole is said to provide more feedback and feel while “posture control technology” reduces the strain on your leg muscles as you transition from accelerator to brake. Rounded heels allow for better rotation and treaded outer soles give extra bite when you execute heel-and-toe downshifts.
Despite the thin sole, Mizuno says the shoes are also suitable for short walks thanks to special cushioning.
The Bareclutch shoes come in white, black or blue and are available on Mizuno’s website from 20 September.
To mark 60 years of the iconic 911 Porsche has partnered with Puma on a pair (make that two pairs) of celebratory driving shoes.
