This really is the Rolls-Royce of campers

A German 4x4 firm has taken a Rolls-Royce where it’s never gone before and turned it into a go-anywhere glamper.

The Cullinan SUV has always had off-road ability, alongside Rolls-Royce’s long-established luxury, but Delta 4x4 has gone to extremes and created a full-blown expedition vehicle from the ultimate Chelsea tractor.

The whole car is raised by 80mm to tackle the toughest terrain and now wears 20-inch wheels with 33-inch off-road tyres so large that the wheelarches have had to be extended. There’s a snorkel so the engine won’t drown when wading rivers, lots of underbody protection and a set of powerful roof lights.

Also sitting on the roof are jerry cans for fuel and water plus a two-person roof-tent that’s accessed by a drop-down ladder.

The excursion adaptation was done after Delta 4x4 received “a call from the Arabian Peninsula” and costs over £120,000 on top of the £300,00 you’d need for a Cullinan.

Alternatively you could consider this €2,000 kit that turns almost any SUV into a camper or one of these five ultimate expedition vehicles.
