Great Minds Think Alike: INEOS Announces Grenadier Detour
We can’t imagine a more appropriate way to take a Detour than in a car that shares our name.
As luck would have it, INEOS has just launched exactly that vehicle through its bespoke Arcane Works division. The Grenadier Detour is a limited edition of the highly-capable 4x4 with a host of unique details to enhance the driving and ownership experience.
The 200 Detour models will be distinguished by unique 18-inch forged alloy wheels, a specially designed front grille with headlight surrounds, and four new dedicated paint finishes - Magma Red, Whiteout Blue, Squall Green and Storm Force Silver. Every Grenadier Detour will also be polished by hand to enhance the finish and there’s also an Arcane Works bespoke paint option which allows customers to provide their own colour sample for INEOS to match.
The exterior features new colour options for the front and rear skid plates, roof rails and rear ladder, and the exterior lighting has been de-coloured. Inside there are even more customisation options, with a choice two new satin finishes for the transmission tunnel, doors and air-vents, and tactile leathers and fabrics for key driver touch points. INEOS has also chosen a selection of key partners to supply the finest materials for the cabin. Four fine-grain Bridge of Weir leathers are available for the quilted seat upholstery, and there are two cashmere choices from Johnstons of Elgin for the headlining. All Detour models will feature a laser-etched aluminium door scuff plate displaying the vehicle’s limited-edition status. Understated Arcane Works exterior and interior badging is created by British jewellers, Vaughtons.
George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director, INEOS Automotive says, “We chose the Arcane name for our new division because the limited-edition vehicles it creates will be so unique as to be rarely spotted in the wild. Working in small-batches and hand finishing the cars means we can give a level of individuality not found in the 4X4 market. For our first launch, Grenadier Detour felt like a fitting name as the Grenadier is for people who enjoy driving, and sometimes it’s worth taking the longer route.”
