At the Fuji Speedway Hotel in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture, you can take part in a one-day touge experience that takes you over the stunning Hakone Turnpike then the Lake Yamanakako and Anest Iwata Turnpike through the Myojin Pass, past the Mt. Taikanzan Observatory, and around Mt. Miku. A second option is to explore the Fuji Five Lakes region instead.

You’ll follow a multi-lingual guide to ensure you don’t get lost - or get too carried away behind the wheel of the Toyota GRMN Yaris or a GR Supra that you’ll be given the keys to. Tours cost ￥665,000 or around £330. The hotel also partners with the race circuit to offer karting, track drives and race simulators in its gym and bar as well as entry to the motorsports museum.

Meanwhile, at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California there’s an Italian vibe where a unique Villa and Vespa Experience gives you access to a Vespa Primavera 150cc scooter - not just for the duration of your stay, but to take home with you. Personalised helmets are provided and you’ll get an exclusive parking spot at the Villa Clubhouse, Main Estate, Coliseum Pool, and Pelican Hill Golf Club. If you’ve not ridden before then the hotel will even provide tuition. The package does cost $11,000, but you should you suffer buyers’ remorse then the hotel will purchase the scooter back at the end of your holiday.
