Vantage World Tour Completes Passage Through India
Globetrotting father and son Phil and Will Churchill are one stage closer to finishing their round-the-world drive in an 2005 Aston Martin V8 Vantage after crossing India.
The drive didn’t get off to a great start after their Aston Martin was held in customs for a week, and meaning they had to alter their planned route and skip Nepal. Instead the duo left the port of Kolkata, heading north west.
The 2,000-mile drive took them through Durgapur, Gaya, Varanasi and Agra to Delhi, before heading south-westerly through Jaipur, Udaipur and Vadodara, and finally Mumbai. Along the way, the Churchills experienced the Ganga Aarti ceremony on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi, visited the Agra Fort and Taj Mahal, and Jaipur’s Amber Palace. Phil and Will were also interviewed by Top Gear India en route.
The Vantage World Tour has now covered 23,500 miles in 17 countries and raised more than £37,000 for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a charity dedicated to combating suicide, recognised as the largest killer of men under 50 in the UK.
