Three Peaks, 470 Miles, 69MPG

Jaecoo 3 Peaks record main

British TV presenter Ben Shephard has set a new Guinness World Record by tackling the Three Peaks Challenge in the most efficient manner ever recorded.

Shephard used a Jaecoo 7 SHS-P to get him between the peaks of Ben Nevis, in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Wales. Shephard did the climbing, while economy driving experts Kevin Booker and Sam Clarke took the wheel.

The Jaecoo, often referred to as the ‘Temu Range Rover’ for its budget price and upmarket looks, achieved 68.7mpg over the 469.5-mile drive, which took place over two days. Jaecoo claims the car still had plenty left in the tank (and battery), saying that the hybrid vehicle actually has a total range of 745 miles.

"I’ve wanted to take on the Three Peaks for years, and doing it as part of a Guinness World Records attempt with JAECOO added a whole new level of pressure,” said Shephard. “Three mountains, three nations and a whole lot of rain were brutal on the legs, so the time between the climbs really mattered. The JAECOO 7 SHS-P was so comfortable and quiet that I could genuinely rest and recover on the road.”

The Jaecoo’s journey was tracked by GPS, and its achievement was verified by Guinness World Records.
