Do you have the white stuff for a Mille Miglia in the snow?
Better pack your thermals if you fancy taking part in the coolest rally of 2023.
The Coppa delle Alpi will see drivers of pre-1990 classic cars attack the most amazing Alpine passes in Italy, Switzerland and Austria. The 1,000km route has been devised by the organisers of the Mille Miglia and drivers will compete in a regularity competition across the entire Alpine arc.
Beginning on 28 February 2023 the first day will be a sporting prologue dubbed the Bergamo Brescia Capital of Culture 2023 Trophy, which will see the cars reach Tirano from where the first leg of the rally will officially start.
Drivers will head through the mountains to the swanky Swiss ski resort of St Moritz, then on to Innsbruck in Austria before re-entering Italy and passing through Brixen to a finish in Bormio.
As if the Futa and Raticosa passes of the Mille Miglia weren’t tough enough, Detour’s Nik Berg braves them in torrential rain. In Maserati’s MC20 supercar.
