The Mille Miglia Will Speed Through Scenic Sorrento in 2024
The organiser of the legendary Mille Miglia is offering a second chance to accelerate through Italy in 2024.
In addition to the regular running of the epic Rome-Brescia-Rome road race its Sorrento Roads event is open to cars built before 1990 and takes place from 4-7 April on the spectacular roads of the Amalfi Coast. Starting, as the name suggests, in Sorrento the route will take drivers over the hills to Positano and then follow the twists and turns of the coastline through to Amalfi, Maiori and up to Salerno, before heading south to Paestum and then a dash back to the start, via Pompeii in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius.
Along the way there will be 15 time trial sections, and, as it is a regularity event, the roads will be open to the public. The event concludes with a display of all vehicles in Sorrento and the dramatic Trofeo Città di Sorrento challenge which sees cars race one v one through the streets.
It costs £3,660 to enter, which includes accommodation and hospitality. Find out more.
