Take a Tour Through Italy or France in a Classic Mercedes

Mercedes Classic Tour

Mercedes-Benz promises a “stylish journey through time” with a range of European driving tours.

The German car maker describes its Classic Car Travel programme as the opportunity to “Sit behind the wheel of our legendary Mercedes‑Benz SL and take wonderful roads through stunning scenery. With the wind in your face and the delicate wheel in your hands, you'll sense the indescribable flair of bygone times. Enjoy driving in its purest form, the timeless, elegant design with its intricate chrome elements, and the feel and smell, which tell stories of past adventures. You'll arrive in style at exquisite locations, where you can stop off to enjoy the finest cuisine.”

Six different tours are available, four in Italy and two in France and all allow participants to drive Mercedes' drop-tops of varying vintage. Two routes are inspired by the Mille Miglia (which Mercedes famously won with Stirling Moss in 1955): the first focusing on the region around Lake Garda and the sinewy roads of Monet Baldo and Gardesana, while the second takes in the cypress-lined roads and olive groves of Umbria. The two additional routes explore Tuscany and the shores of Lake Maggiore. The Gallic options take drivers to the French Maritime Alps and the lavender fields of Provence.

In every case guests drive in small groups with a guide and mechanics in a support vehicle just in case the old Mercs don’t quite live up to their legendary reliability. Prices start from €2,850 per person for a four-day drive and you can find all the details on the Mercedes-Benz Classic Car Travel webpage.
