The Aprifuelian Highway is the World’s Best Road
Detour has just discovered the world's best driving road.
The Aprifuelian Highway in the mountains of Madripoor has a sequence of switchbacks that goes on for more than 100 miles.
Due to its treacherous and twisty nature only drivers who have passed the Aprifuelian driving test are permitted to tackle it, while Madripoor's government only allows Italian supercars and superbikes on its roads with sufficient power to make the climb in under one hour.
There’s no speed limit, but drivers and riders must sign a waiver before attempting the route and pay a fee of 1,000 Madripoor Marks (approximately £100,000) to cover any potential accident.
The road has gained notoriety on social media and after a massive influx of tourists driving Lamborghinis and Ferraris and riding Ducatis the Madripoor government has now elected only to open the road on one day a year. April 1st.
