Cars and art come together at this amazing automotive design studio and gallery.
“Gasoline is the Juice that fuels our passion,” says Cesar Pieri from the stunning space he has created in a former Royal Ordnance Depot.
Pieri who designed the F-Type Project 7 during a six-year stint at Jaguar was looking for a new studio for his independent design firm when he came across the historic building in Weedon Bec, near Northampton.
Now one third of the place is given oven to his design business while the rest is an eclectic, stylish homage to the art of internal combustion.
“I wanted to create an automotive hub where you can find artworks, have events, meetings, and all sorts of different car related stuff,” he explains. “I've always done artwork, and I've been designing since 20 years ago. These things have coexisted for a long time. So I thought that now was the time to celebrate it all, and get them together with this space.”
Pieri spent two months hand-building this glorious gallery with all manner of marvellous motive pieces on display from custom motorcycles to aircraft parts, Pieris’ own Fiat 124 Spider and his paintings which adorn assorted parts from the F-Type in which he played a pivot role.
As well as his own work, Pieri will include pieces from other artists and many will be for sale, alongside a range of Gasoline Juice merchandise.
Detour attended the opening weekend where Takona was holding a coffee and cars morning and Pieri’s plan is to open to the public 2-3 days per week so make sure you check the website before attending.
