Meet the Detourists of 2024

It’s been another excellent annum for automotive adventures little and large.

We’ve seen drivers and riders circumnavigate the globe and drive classic cars and supercars far beyond expectations. Here’s a reminder of our favourite Detourists of 2024.

Electric Dreams big and small

Franch rally ace Eric Vigouroux and his team picked the most unlikely vehicle for an African odyssey – the tiny Citroen Ami EV, while American adventurer Lexie Alford set a new record for travelling the globe by electric car, completing her 30,000-km journey in 200 days. Read about Eric’s epic drive here and Lexie’s record here.

The Love BugS

Back in March we told the story of Domi and Zainab who visited 80 countries in two Herbie replica VW Beetles in the Americas, Europe and Africa. Read about the Love Bugs here.

#Lambolife

YouTuber Conner converted a Lamborghini Urus to be a live-in overlander. When we caught up with him in May he’d travelled more than 20,000 miles through 16 countries with plenty more to go. Read about Conner’s cool camper here.

Ride around the world

Ollie Gamblin and Lavi Scholl set a new Guinness World Record for riding around the planet two-up on a motorcycle – and even got married along the way. Read about Ollie and Lavi’s two-wheeled record here.
